This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very special to me. I love and care for each of them as if they were my own children. They love to learn and I try to make learning fun. Our classroom is like one big family. We eat together, take care of each other, laugh together and cry together.
Our school is a 4th and 5th grade school.
We are a Title One school with a very high poverty rate. All students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. We have students from many different cultures and languages. We have some of the best students and teachers around.
My Project
Students learn more through hands-on science activities. We need incubators and brooders to learn about the life cycle of chickens. These materials will make learning easy and fun.
The incubators and brooder will allow our students to have a hands-on learning experience about the life cycle of the chicken.
Our students will learn about the steps in the 21 days of the life cycle, the hatching process, and how to take care of baby chickens. The incubation process of eggs requires fully functioning incubators with proper temperature control and egg turning. Having these incubators will give us the assurance that the eggs will have a higher success rate of hatching. The ability to be able to actually be a part of the incubation process will allow our students to be more successful in learning about life science.
