My Project
I work with a student who is struggling with motivation lately. "Mr. what's the point!" he tells me. Basketball season has ended, spring and summer are on their way, and my student is really struggling with attendance and work completion. He isn't alone. A lot of students struggle with motivation in the spring.
Our school is designing a PBIS program to reward students with raffle tickets for showing up to class and completing work.
This was great during vacation school. Students were so excited with the incredible prizes and in the end, the sweetest student went home with the grand prize making everybody happy with the karma in the universe. I'm looking to do this for the whole school in the spring in order to spark the same enthusiasm. The only issue is the school is lacking the funding.
Some of the prizes here are pricey. However, I think your donation accomplishes two things. The first is you are helping our school build a positive school culture and encouraging students to come to class and complete the assignments. The other piece is that you are giving kids access to prizes that they normally would not be able to afford. The student who won the grand prize last raffle spent a lot of the year in the hospital. He didn't have any gaming system at home. It was all he was talking about. On the way to the raffle, he stopped to pray for the grand prize. It was incredible when I saw his name come up.
I hope that with your donation, we are able to give other students the same feeling. I hope your donation motives students and rewards those who deserve it the most. Thank you for your consideration.
