This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Walking into our school, you will find a diverse group of kids. Many of my students are English language learners, which means they are learning how to read, write, and speak English.
Our classroom is in an urban environment, filled with kids from all walks of life.
We are a Title I school, and our whole school gets free breakfast and lunch. I have a few students with troubled homes, which makes me work harder to create an environment where every child feels safe and able to learn the skills necessary to be ready for middle school and beyond.
My Project
All kinds of learners are found in any given classroom. Some students are intrinsically motivated. These students are the self starters, hard workers, and lovers of learning. Other students enjoy learning but need some motivation to work harder and stay more focused.
Little prizes or rewards can go a long way in getting students to put extra effort into their work and learning.
I know students love rewards such as slime, sticky hands, putty with glitter, stickers, noise makers, puzzles, erasers, tiny toys, school supplies, and miniature games. I have carefully selected these type of items and more, so students can have the opportunity to earn what they like by working hard and exhibiting good behavior.
It is my wish that this project will fund the highly interesting and fun little prizes that will inspire all students to work harder and stay focused, which will help increase their academic achievement.
