Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 92% of the students are students of color.

The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.

My Project

My students are explorers, scientists, artists and inventors. My students are the creative minds that will shape the 21st century and beyond.

My students are enraptured by STEM activities which allow them to learn science, technology, engineering and math.

We use a lot on engineering projects and strategy-building games during school. Now we need to expand this learning to our own creative process. My students have so much passion for learning and for creating, and we need more opportunities to expand our perspectives and our creativity. These interactive engineering based books will be just the ticket!

"Destroy This Book In The Name Of Science" will give my students an incredible opportunity to practice the creative and scientific process. My students will be able to build a hoop glider, press out turtle water racers, color an Einstein bobblehead, and much more! With these activities, we will continue to develop our scientific minds and build a stronger community. Thank you for considering our project!
