Increasing Reading Achievement, by Incorporating Arts and Humanities!
Help me give my students musical instruments, art supplies, organizational tools, and reading motivational supplies to increase their motivation and classroom performance.
I have the absolute most amazing students! They have overcome so many obstacles over the past few years; including a life-changing flood, being displaced for two years, and rebuilding a new school in a building that we weren’t sure if it was going to happen or not. They’ve stood the test of time! We are finally home, in our new building, but needing many supplies. As a third and fourth grade reading teacher, it can sometimes be challenging to engage young learners’ minds. I’m ask for assistance with these items to increase curiosity into the arts and explore each story that we read on a new level. Many students learn best through hands-on experiences.
I’d like to provide opportunities for my students to create visual arts and musical projects to enhance our reading content.
There are many types of learners in my classroom and it would provide them all a chance to excel and enjoy themselves while at school. I’m asking for mini tambourines, clapping hands, and maracas for music and for playing vocabulary related games.
I’m also asking for markers, colored paper, dry erase markers, play dough, bookmarks, and prize box items to supplement our reading program. We can enhance our stories by creating crafts to enrich our content. The Lakeshore Neon Bundle Bin will supplement our reading program and help organize our reading materials neatly and with bright colors for my students. The prizes and bookmarks will be used as incentives to raise achievement scores. My students are so very special and deserve these items.
