Increasing Engagement with Interactive Notebooks

Help me give my students materials to complete interactive notebooks in order to fully engage in their lessons.

My Project

My students are 7th graders that have a wide range of backgrounds. Forty percent of the students are EL's, who are learning the English language. Another thirty percent have a variety of learning disabilities, my IEP students. Then, there are the high flyers and excel in school without accommodations. With such a diverse group of students, I must ensure that my teaching materials are inclusive and accessible. One way to differentiate Science so all my students can access the material is by using Interactive Notebooks.

Interactive notebooks help teach students to visualize their thoughts, allow them to become active learners, and even build communication between teachers and families.

All of this is essential for EL and IEP students.

Every student will be given a notebook. Each of the items requested are going to fill student supply boxes that will be placed on their tables. The supplies will be used daily for completing the interactive notebooks.

I love that my students are so unique. They allow me to use a large variety of teaching styles and techniques during my lessons, activities, and labs. Having Interactive Notebooks would be extremely beneficial for my students to excel in Science.
