Increased Math Learning and Independence With Great Organization!
Help me give my students increased independence in math workshop with sturdy, long-lasting Sterilite "Aquarium" large bins (with latches) to keep our math materials beautifully organized, ready for learning, and quickly cleaned up!
I teach right where I want to be: in my district's school with the highest rate of free and reduced price lunch (79.36%). In other words, we are the "most Title I of the Title I schools" in our district. I love being here because my beloved students are building resilience and a love of learning alongside their literacy and numeracy skills, and almost all of them are also learning English. They are bright, wonderful children who LOVE to come to our rigorous yet nurturing and joyful school.
I am lucky to teach in a school that is implementing the excellent, research-driven math workshop model as described in Jennifer Lempp's book "Math Workshop: Five Steps to Implementing Guided Math, Learning Stations, Reflection, and More." I'm delighted to see how my Kindergartners are learning not only math skills through math workshop, but also cooperation skills, perseverance, and independence.
I've been organizing their math choices as well as possible in the bins I had on hand--but these Sterilite "Aquarium" large bins (with latches) will keep all the materials together for each math center and allow the materials to lay flat.
But most importantly, these bins will make it easy for Kindergartners to find what they need and clean up themselves when they are done. Plus, these bins will fit perfectly on our math shelves! A clean and tidy math space will contribute to their learning and to a great environment for young children to learn. Thank you for considering a donation!
