This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a low-income 3rd-grade classroom. This will be my 2nd year teaching math, health, and science to two blocks of learners (approximately 60 students total) in Prince George’s County, MD. This is my ninth year teaching in a Title I school; meaning that over half of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.
My students are energetic, creative, and ambitious learners, who would benefit from new and innovative opportunities!
Additionally, the students at my school come from diverse backgrounds, which means they all have different needs. As a teacher of a low income/high poverty/heavily ELL (English Language Learners) school district, these students face challenges on a daily basis which only makes them stronger and more determined to reach their goals. They are very goal-oriented and I can’t wait to see how much they grow throughout the year!
My Project
My students live in a digital world that I could have never dreamed of as a child. Their days are full of streaming videos, music, educational games, and more. In order to engage students in our daily activities, it is imperative that I include components of technology whenever possible.
With JBL Bluetooth speakers, we will be able to listen to music, stream educational videos, and watch lessons together.
New speakers will provide a seamless sound that makes for clear and easy instruction. In the past, I have had poor quality speakers that make listening to music or videos together nearly unbearable. JBL portable speakers can go with us anywhere we need it in the classroom and throughout the building. Any contribution you are able to make to this project is greatly appreciated, thank you!
