My Project

I am a Site Literacy teacher at a low-socioeconomic, Title I school. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are comprised of a variety of cultures. We are working hard to establish a culture of literacy to increase academic growth and decrease absenteeism. As reading becomes the heart of our school, we will create a literature rich environment-with your help!

Help us increase literacy by creating a fun, rewarding experience with a book vending machine!

The Inchy the Bookworm Vending Machine would enable us to reward students for achieving growth in academics, reaching grade level proficiency, and recognize students for reaching their individual reading goals.

This vending machine would enable us to introduce students to the broad spectrum of literature. We would be able to put books in every student's hands and specifically include books that not only represent them and their culture, but can transport them through a story to another world!
