My Students
Students in my classroom are military dependents and local residents of a large town in Hawaii. Our school is a Title I school which means we have a high percentage of students from low-income families. Furthermore, our school has a transient population due to the students with parents in the military.
My students are fun-loving, preschool aged, special education students.
Students have different disabilities such as autism, speech delays, and developmental delays but they are eager, bright, and love to learn about everything! I hope to make their first experiences in school fun and engaging!
My Project
I want to increase my visual learning toolbox to give students ways to increase their verbal skills! My students need colored flashcards to increase their verbal skills. Teachers will work 1:1 or in small groups to present, practice, and review words and sequencing. Students learn best in my classroom when presented with different modalities of learning. Students love colorful, interesting visual learning tools.
The learning cards will give students a fun way to work with teachers to learn prepositions, sequencing, and language skills.
The cards and the card storage containers will allow teachers to begin organizing and implementing learning activities immediately. No need for printing and laminating.
