Incorporating Native American Heritage into the classroom!

Help me give my students Some materials that are directed towards Native American culture, through the use of books and art materials!

My Project

As a first year teacher, I have done many things to incorporate Native American heritage into the classroom as I am a Cherokee myself.

The school I work at has students who are mostly all Native American.

With these resources I am able to help support their need to know more about their culture!

The materials I have chosen for this project are books about Native American cultures that I don’t already own for the class, art materials and a snack! Not only the use of the books are important, but the art materials as well! The students will be able to use the materials in a way that will demonstrate their learning and help develop a stronger connection with who they are through their artwork.
