With the materials received, I plan to introduce in-depth lessons to educate kids on the reasons we celebrate holidays and their true meanings. My class has found a particularly big interest in learning about diversity this year as we come from a rural school district where we have students of all ethnicities and cultures. This week we use some of the materials to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and the importance that he played in our history in the past and today in our present. Coming from a small country school with many children can mean having some needs that aren't always met. \r\nThe students can access the student care cart at all times with some general guidelines such as the condition of only taking materials if they truly need them. This is to help prevent all the materials from being taken immediately. \r\nI put the cart together yesterday and the kids came in from their encore time they were super excited and grateful for the new resources that were added to our classroom. \r\nWith the generous support from donors much like you, it makes a huge difference in meeting the student's needs in something as easy as giving them a hair brush.
