My Project
This year our school became a magnet school for the arts. The teachers are taking weekly classes to learn how to incorporate drama, music, dance, and visual art into our core lessons. This is all very exciting for the teachers as well as the students, however, I don't have many of the supplies I would like to use in my classroom.
Music is one area where I have seen my students absolutely light up, and I want to be able to highlight that in our classroom.
Until this year many of our students had never had the opportunity to play an instrument. This upcoming year I want my students to make sound scapes to match the different environments we learn about. We will incorporate rhythm and beat as we learn new vocabulary words and work on syllables. These instruments would also be a great addition to our reader's theater as we create sounds to match the scene.
