In an increasingly technology-focused world, methods for effective teaching continue to evolve. With that evolution, students can quickly fall behind if they don’t have access to the systems, tools and technologies that are changing the way educators teach and children learn. While using tactile, hands-on methods for teaching our youngest students are still critical, so, too, is the need for technology in the classroom.
I teach a wonderful group of kindergartners that come to school excited about learning.
They want to explore, create, and learn any and everything! My goal is to ensure they have the opportunity to do so through both hands-on learning and with the amazing technology that is available today.
By having access to an overflowing toolbox, I hope that my students will develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime!
My Project
iPads are integral and amazing tools that should be present in any classroom. Introducing them in an early childhood classroom is critical to children’s grasp of technology and their continued success as they move to elementary school. With iPads and cases in my classroom, students would have access to more engaging opportunities, helping to hone their fine motor skills, technological acuity and problem-solving skills. What’s more, access to movie-making technology, social stories, math and reading games, and learning apps will only strengthen their skills in the classroom and beyond. By incorporating iPads into the classroom, students will also be able to create both independent and collaborative projects – working effectively in a team environment and on their own.
My students need stimulating and engaging academic exposures in order to solidify the content they are learning.
iPads will help me individualize learning and create a more authentic learning experience for each student. It’s these experiences that will help mold these children into students who excel and value learning.
