My Project

I am seeking funding to incorporate Flocabulary and BrainPOP Jr. across my Literacy and Social Studies curriculums. While these two programs would help all my students, it's specifically targeting my English as a Second Language (ESL) and high-needs student populations. These digital learning platforms offer a range of multimedia content that supports language development, content knowledge acquisition, and cognitive skills enhancement through engaging, educational videos interactive activities, and songs.

Currently, there is no vocabulary program at my school and students lack the background knowledge to many concepts in Social Studies and non-fiction texts.

These two platforms would be extremely impactful in my teaching. From using these programs in the past, I have seen high student engagement and the content seamlessly connects to our curriculum and state standards.

What is Flocabulary and Brain Pop Jr exactly?

Flocabulary: A library of educational hip-hop videos across subjects that enhance vocabulary, literacy, and content knowledge, making learning enjoyable and memorable. Students learn new vocabulary through catchy rap songs. The songs stick and the words are internalized.

Brain POP Jr.: Animated short educational videos covering a wide range of subjects (geography, history and notable people) designed to engage, but also gain prior knowledge and teach new skills.

My students would be so excited to have these programs all year.
