Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

RES has many new students, some with exceptional English and others learning English for the first time. We make sure our students have access to many books that show diversity, neurodiversity, and disabilities that help students learn about themselves. Some students ask why they are different, and if we can help them understand how unique they are, we can teach them about diversity.

Books about diversity and inclusivity are needed because they help children and readers of all backgrounds connect with each other and understand different cultures.

Some students have ADHD, Autism, Neurodiversity, Dyslexia, and other unique issues they are dealing with in their personal lives. If we can help our kids learn about themselves, it would really show them that being unique isn't bad.
