Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These toys serve as powerful incentives and positive reinforcement tools during lessons. They encourage active participation, on-task behavior, and academic effort. When students know they have the opportunity to earn a fidget toy or sensory item, they are more motivated to stay engaged and meet classroom expectations. Additionally, these items help build a fun and joyful atmosphere, making learning an exciting experience.
My students are incredibly enthusiastic and thrive on positive encouragement.
They absolutely love earning toys as rewards, and it truly makes their day when they can go home with a special item they’ve worked hard to earn. For many, these toys represent more than just a prize—they’re a symbol of their success and effort. Seeing their excitement and pride motivates me to find ways to keep learning engaging and rewarding for them. They are a creative, energetic group that deserves to have their achievements celebrated in ways that resonate with them. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students are excited to learn and feel rewarded for their efforts.
Also, I have implemented a Dojo store in my classroom. Students earn Dojo points throughout the day and they can cash in their prizes for a toy too! This helps them learn how to subtract numbers!
