Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Remember as a student getting excited when you would get an incentive from your teacher for good behavior? Ever run out of batteries and never have any replacements? Who likes to write on the floor? We don't!
I teach Physical Education in a high poverty inner city public school in Indiana.
Our school has almost 600 students, K-6, who love Physical Education! I see every student twice a week. We rarely go outside to play, and I want to teach the students how to exercise inside. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could then go home and teach their families what they've learned. By doing this, the entire family will be exercising together, and everyone would be in shape!
My Project
Having incentives to show the students just how well they are doing will help improve behavior. I have a treasure chest they can pick prizes from if they show our school's Bulldog Way. They all try really hard to get chosen to go to the treasure chest. The charts will let classes know how well they are doing in Physical Education. Sometimes I have a student who needs to do a writing assignment because of a behavior issue or a medical reasons. Having clipboards will help them write.
Donations to this project will help over 600 students in my school.
With your help we can have our students improve their behavior. Students will benefit from knowing how they are doing as a class and working to improve. Having the rechargeable batteries will keep our microphone fully charged. The clipboards will keep the learning going even if they can not take part in class. Thank you for considering our project!
