Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to start the school year successfully with incentives to motivate students to stay focused on their learning. Our tier I behavior system consists of students earning our school/wide tickets and then exchanging them for prizes at the end of the week.

This Tier I system motivates all of my students to try harder and be the best learners they can be.

The project includes mini notebooks, pencils, and other small incentives for students to earn. A portable file box will be a great storage place for these incentives, on the lid, some small compartments could be used to keep our tickets, pencils, and other tools to keep our Tier I system going smoothly throughout the school year. The bilingual flashcard number will support my multilingual students learn the names of the numbers in English. One set will be used as a number line for everyone to use when needed.

Half of my students are language learners, new to the country, and two of them are refugees. They are learning together and these incentives will motivate them to stay focused, even when things get hard or they do not understand everything is going on academically, they can still feel successful and welcomed in the classroom.
