My Students
Like most students in 2020, our students are doing the bulk of their learning and socializing online. Students have been working hard and adapting to life during the pandemic but it is not easy.
My high school students are fun, have persistence, work hard, but right now they need a little extra motivation.
My Project
Students enjoy competing and playing games while learning, and prizes add to the motivation. While studying math concepts we play Pictionary, Jeopardy and other games that engage students. Students will receive a gift card while playing learning games and be able to purchase needed items without having to leave home. This has been a real motivator for my students.
During this isolated time, a tangible prize helps students feel connected to the school.
Students feel recognized for their hard work and feel valued by the school for being invested in their own learning. With remote school, it is hard to bring that sense of community while everyone is isolated in their own homes. Students will receive the prize cards in the mail to spend on whatever they need.
