it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hi donors, thank you for your continued support. This time my classes and I are hoping to earn snacks as incentives for coming to school everyday. My newcomer students from East Oakland live in a low-income, low-represented neighborhoods and communities with danger around in some cases. It is already hard enough already for some of them to show up to school.
I noticed that when I would provide them with a fruit every morning or a gummy pack to eat before starting class, they would be happy they even came to school in the first place.
I would love a lot more of my students to feel that way and every single day because it is possible for them to show up and be prepared to learn when they see that teachers care for them to be present.
