Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, I am teaching technology! While I'm teaching an array of grades, most of the classes are from pre3-5th grade. The majority of the school students are Hispanic/Latino, and many of them speak Spanish when they are at home.

This year, we are back in school full-fledged and need to stay safe through this epidemic.

Our students are economically disadvantaged and therefore are receiving both breakfast and lunch in school.

My Project

The materials for this project will be used to encourage our students to fully engage in their i-Ready lessons. This year students have access to i-Ready, which provides each student individualized lessons in both reading and math that will support them at their own levels.

To motivate our learners to meet their goals, we will be having a tech store that will enable students to "purchase" prizes in exchange for lessons that they pass on i-Ready.

Students will be able to monitor their progress of passing their lessons with a score of 70% or higher on their i-Ready dashboards.

Students will be able to "light up the lab" for a day or purchase individual prizes by saving up their past lesson earnings. Having fun prizes and ways to celebrate their learning, students will be highly motivated to engage in their lessons and will excel in their studies while celebrating their progress at a well-earned fee.
