Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in grades 9-12 and attend a public school. My students work hard each day to learn the Spanish language. I teach 170 students with different academic levels. My students are interested in the health professions and a second language is vital in their educational life. My students are hard-working, generous, cooperative and take their education very seriously. This is the reason why I praise them constantly and reward them for their efforts on classwork, exams, and honor roll status. Our school has a 94% percent graduation rate and most of our students go on to college and enter the health field.

My Project

My students dedicate themselves to school each day and when they get rewarded with either a nice pen, pencil, or eraser they feel good that their teacher acknowledged and praised their hard work. My goal is for students of different academic levels to be rewarded for a job well done for class work, class participation, winning a game, good exam grades, etc. These supplies (pens, pencils, grips, erasers, pencil sharpeners, markers, notebooks) will enhance their learning to aim for higher performance. I enjoy seeing my students learn Spanish and enjoy rewarding them by giving them incentives for doing well on exams, homework, class participation, having good behavior, etc. However, I am not always able to provide incentives, only homework coupons or points, due to limited budget and supplies. I want to reward them with nice incentives such as goody bags filled with school supplies to show them that hard work pays off.

I know that your generous donation will continue to make my students excel in their academic performance.

They will continue to do better each day and be proud of their achievements in their Spanish classes.
