My Students

My students are in seventh and eighth-grade. These students are currently learning in a hybrid model, one week in person, one week virtual.

They are creative, free thinkers that desire and need challenges during this time of uncertainty and many changes.

My Project

Our middle school uses the PBIS behavior support system. As part of our plan, we use STAR bucks to encourage students to do the right thing and following our STAR matrix. Every student in school, whether they are in person or virtual learning can earn STAR bucks.

We want to support students' emotional health as well as academic learning and part of that is making sure students feel the positive rewards for coming to school even when things are so different with school this year.

Each week students have the opportunity to spend their bucks in our Patriot store which looks a little different this year, our store is on a cart due to social distancing but students still love to see the cart coming.

They can use their STAR bucks to purchase various items.

These supplies would be a great addition to our store and give students something to look forward to. The craft kits and DIY kits will also give students something to do while they are at home during their virtual learning week.
