The new Kleenex boxes you helped provide might seem like a small thing, but for our students, they make a big difference.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the smiles when they first saw the fresh boxes. Some of them even cheered quietly, saying, \"Finally!\" It's funny, but something as simple as a tissue can make a classroom feel more comfortable and cared for. Students are using them every day, keeping germs at bay and helping everyone stay healthy.\r\n\r\nBut what really touches me is how these little boxes of tissues also help students emotionally. When someone is feeling sad, frustrated, or overwhelmed, being able to grab a tissue without asking shows them they're supported. It's a small gesture, but it reminds them—and me—that our classroom is a place where their feelings matter.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than provide tissues. It's helped create a classroom where students feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn. This is where the real challenge begins, as they'll need to use problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork to create puzzles that are both fun and educational. They are learning how to think from a teacher's perspective—planning clues, testing their ideas, and making sure the game will engage other students in a meaningful way. This process encourages them to take ownership of their learning while also developing leadership and communication skills.\r\n\r\nOnce their Breakout games are complete, my students will share them with other classes in the school as part of their community service learning. This step allows them to lead by example, showing their peers the value of collaboration, determination, and perseverance. It also helps them see that their hard work has an impact beyond our classroom, reinforcing the idea that leadership is about lifting others up. With the support of this project, my students are not only strengthening their academic skills, but also discovering how they can use their talents to inspire and support their school community.","fullyFundedDate":1757014849510,"projectUrl":"project/breakout-the-love-of-learning/9649256/","projectTitle":"Breakout the Love of Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Casebolt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1941050_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516380661181","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/diana-casebolt"},{"teacherId":1941050,"projectId":9037113,"letterContent":"Right now, my students are working on building positive classroom habits through our PBIS STAR matrix, which focuses on showing respect, taking responsibility, acting safely, and being ready to learn. By having the opportunity to earn and spend STAR bucks, students are not only motivated to complete their work and participate, but they are also learning important life skills such as responsibility, goal setting, and decision-making.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this process, the next steps for my students will be connecting these positive behaviors to their academic progress and social-emotional growth. With the addition of new incentives for our Patriot store cart, students will have exciting rewards to work toward, which keeps them engaged even during challenging times. The goal is to help them see that their hard work and positive choices truly pay off—both in the classroom and beyond—while also reminding them that their teachers value and care about their wellbeing.","fullyFundedDate":1746461796680,"projectUrl":"project/motivation-to-success/9037113/","projectTitle":"Motivation to Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Casebolt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1941050_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516380661181","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/diana-casebolt"},{"teacherId":9924216,"projectId":9114703,"letterContent":"On behalf of our Pioneer families, students and staff. We want to sincerely thank you for your generous contribution with your donation in helping fund our Threads of Hope needs! Because of your kindness. We have been able to provide our students with hygienic products such as the deodorants that you blessed us with in addition to the supplies we already help fundraise for our students to meet their hygienic needs. As the school year starts. It is very important to us our students start the school year strong and have all their needs met regardless of their economic status. We welcome our students through our open door policy to discuss any barriers they may be facing in hopes to help empower them and equip them with skill sets to learn to advocate for their needs and build a trust worthing community they can go to in our school. Whether it is deodorant, a toothbrush and or laundry detergent to use to have clean clothes for the remainder of their school week. We make sure to have most of everything in our Threads of Hope closet to help our students have a strong school year and decrease their worries and or stressors they face for students to solely focus on school. \r\n\r\nOur students are always amazed by our donors and their donations. Because of our generous donors they are ALWAYS able to fill if not one and or several needs which they often get excited about and express heart felt gratitude over their contribution to our school. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our students' experience, helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where they can focus, feel safe, and open up.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have become an essential part of our therapy sessions. We use them to help build a calming and predictable routine. For many students, having a snack during group allows them to settle in, feel more comfortable, and engage more openly. One memorable moment was during a mindfulness activity when a student shared that snack time helps them \"feel less nervous and more ready to talk.\"\r\n\r\nThe students were genuinely excited and grateful when they saw the variety of snacks available. For some, it felt like a special treat; for others, it was simply a relief to have something to eat. Their smiles and spontaneous \"thank yous\" said it all.\r\n\r\nWe're currently working on social-emotional learning goals such as self-regulation and communication. The next step for our group is a collaborative project where students will create a \"Feelings Toolkit\" — a collection of strategies and supports (including snacks as a grounding tool!) that help them manage big emotions.
