Help me give my students an incentive math center where they can relax and enjoy doing math. I have found that having special seating for students is a great incentive to their desire to be in math class!
This project expired on February 27, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students come to me from many other high schools in the Denver area. Many of my students have become disenfranchised from the traditional education setting, and have decided to attend our school because they don't want to give up their dream of graduating. We help them through credit recovery and facilitate their ability to catch up and graduate. I strive to help my students learn perseverance and problem solving skills they can take with them in their career and their personal lives.
My students are often afraid that they will not like math. They sometimes skip math class because they don't feel comfortable that they will be successful. I already have 2 of these chairs and one of my students said he comes to math class because he can have a comfortable place to sit. If that is all it takes to engage students in learning math they will be so excited to have 4 more fo these chairs. Their faces light up when they walk in and see that no one has taken the comfy zero gravity chairs, and I want to provide 4 more students with that opportunity.
Supporting my project will give my math students an incentive to do well in math for many years to come!
Sometimes it is the little things that make a huge impact, and I have found that these chairs are one of those things. Thank you so much for your support of my math students.
