This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is in Anaheim which is in the shadow of Disneyland. What I love about my students is that so many of them have a natural gift for drawing like Walt Disney. Watching some of these students and what they are capable of artistically makes you see them in an entirely different light. While they may struggle academically (and many seem to have issues with organization!) They excel at art. I am in charge of yearbook and one of my favorite things to do is have students draw the yearbook cover rather than use the templates that the yearbook company offers. Their work is amazing. These materials will allow them to explore their talent.
