Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are eager to learn and explore new things. They are not usually afforded these opportunities at home due to the economic needs of the house. All my students receive free lunch, and most do not have extra money at home to use for these materials. They do not often get a chance to leave their neighborhood to experience other things, so my goal is to bring as many of these experiences to them as possible. All students deserve a chance to learn and feel excited; I aim to provide that to them.

I love to see the joy on their faces when they get a chance to leave behind the many stresses of home and explore new things in the classroom.

These Scholastic magazines will allow them to see so many different things! Many students in my class do not speak English as their first language. Often, they are here from another country, trying to make a new life with their families. Being able to bring this home will allow them to share all of these new experiences with their families as well.
