My Project

Many students are from low income homes and enjoys visiting the library to check out books or build during their recess time. They are excited to see new challenges in the library. Students check out books, however many books are not being returned regularly. To increase book circulation and book returns, I want to start an "In The Library LEGO Club". Each time a students returns their library book they will receive two legos to add to our community lego tower. Through this challange, students learn to be independent, responsible, collaborators, creative, and problem-solvers.

Students are eager to be a part of the "In The Library LEGO Club".

I am requesting legos to increase the book circulation and book returns. Legos are excellent tools that teach various skills. Legos allows students to work and interact with others, allowing for creative thinking, teamwork, building commuicational and problem-solving skills. These skills will set them up for success later on in life.

Many of my students have never built anything with legos and are immediatley facinated by them. Legos will allow student to invent, create new worlds, structures, and scenarios. Legos helps learners find meaning in what they are doing or learning. Legos provides opportunities to develop their imagination and creativity by encouraging them to think outside the box.
