Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are lovely, eager learners who are eager to learn anything I expose them to. They are mathematicians, scientists, and artists!
As English Language Learners in a dual-language program it is essential to engage my students in high interest topics that support both English and Spanish language development.
I have been an elementary teacher for 27 years. I would love provide with a variety of art materials to motivate them to continue nurturing their creativity as the strive to be bi-literate lifelong learners.
My Project
The use of a variety of art materials in our classroom will make art much more fun for everyone. I can imagine the anticipation to Friday art time when students know that they will try using different mediums to express themselves.
Art is the subject in which ALL students can shine with their own style.
My students are so happy anytime we do art. They feel safe in knowing that they are never wrong. Let the fun continue while doing art, and by allowing kids to explore their creativity with big smiles while they draw, color, paint, and dream.
I can visualize myself with my student after recess taking a nature walk around the playground, They will pick up sticks, leaves, flowers and rocks that they wish to sketch, and color.
My students need art supplies including paper, markers, gesso, watercolors, pencils to make their masterpieces.
