My Students
The students in my classroom are full of energy, wonder, and enthusiasm. They receive their instruction in a self-contain setting due to having more than one area of need. In our classroom, they receive direct instruction with many modification and accommodation. They are loving individuals who face daily hardship in areas of social-emotional, adaptive, communication, math, reading, and writing. They come from various cultures, speak different languages, and many of their families are struggling economically. They attend a culturally diverse school with 70% of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
As we return back into school, students need individual materials of their own to ensure safety for staff and students. This makes it quite difficult as materials are often shared in our classroom but this isn't the case for the situation that we are now faced with.
One thing we are faced with as we return is that students are still attending other classes.
Headphones are crucial to returning back in person. While in the classroom, students need to listen, record, and participate without hearing other students. This would greatly help our students focus on their own individual task.
