I am thrilled to be coming back to the classroom after a few years off while having a child. Unfortunately, it is rather expensive to turn your classroom into an inviting space. My goal is to create a space where all students feel safe and comfortable while learning. The items in my project will aid in turning the cold cinderblock walls into a cozy Family and Consumer Sciences classroom.
Students spend more time in the classroom than they do at home, so I strive to make my classroom as much like "home" as possible.
The items in my project such as the rug and classroom decor will help tremendously in this transformation.
Other necessities such as the pencils, pencil sharpener, dish soap, sponges, etc. are daily items that are always in need. It would be phenomenal to start the school year off with a small supply of the basic necessities!
My overall goal with this project is to create a learning environment encompassing a feeling of family. Where needs are met and learning is achieved, all in the comfort of our cozy little classroom.
