This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a high-poverty, Title I school in Arizona. More than half of the families of my students do not have enough money to buy art supplies for school and are considered low-income households. Also, Title I schools have a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced-price breakfast/lunch.

My students are primarily in grades K-4 and are amazing artists!

My Project

These art materials will make a difference in the lives of my students because they will be able to identify with their feelings, literacy, and art. The project will integrate literacy and art and social emotional learning.

This project is important because it will help students identify with literacy.

Students will be able to understand how artists can integrate literacy with art and sculptural forms. It is important that students can regulate their feelings and emotions and have an outlet for creativity.
