My Project

The use of calming resources is imperative for my students to find their own peace, regulate their own emotions, and access the curriculum. I strive for my classroom to be a calming, welcoming, and safe place for my students. Throughout the day, my students face different challenges and are always working on learning how to regulate their own emotions.

Having access to different tools such as sensory fidget mazes, stickers, weighted calming buddy, and soft seating will allow my students to learn ways to find their own peace in turn to be ready to learn and access the curriculum.

The light covers in our classroom will provide a more welcoming classroom as the fluorescent lights in classrooms can be very distracting and cause eye strain or headaches. With all of these tools, my students will feel safe and ready to learn all about self-regulation as well as the academics.
