My Project

“In life you need colors.” - Bob Ross

My students LOVE colors and they draw rainbows on pretty much EVERYTHING they can - so I have requested this project in hopes of bringing more color into our happy place.

I have always told my students that mistakes are part of learning, but maybe I should tell them they are just "happy accidents" as Bob Ross used to say.

Providing a bright, colorful environment to my students - who are just a bright and beautiful as every color of the rainbow - is something I think makes it a more engaging and inviting place for them to learn.

Just this week, I had a new student arrive to our school. He loves the color blue, and I'd like to make sure he gets needed sensory items that he will utilize more because they are in his favorite shades.

The colorful paper and markers will allow me to make more small-group activities and notes home that stand out; the baking sheets are for activities with magnetic letters and numbers; two amazing books my coworker recommended for our classroom (they LOVE when I read books to them); big paper and markers for more classroom activities and Post-It notes for small reminders.

Over the years, our classroom projects through Donors Choose have blessed us with items I would not have been able to provide all on my own. I have also been able to pass along some of the items my students utilize to make their time in the regular education classrooms more manageable as well. Your donation doesn't just help me, you're helping 16 very colorful characters and my co-workers, and we are all grateful.
