My Students
My third grade students continue to surprise me each year. As we entered our third quarter together, we did so as virtual students. We have been fortunate this year to be able to remain in our physical classroom.
My students showed me just how closely they have been paying attention, what great listeners they are, and how much they value their education when they logged on for our first ever distance lesson.
It was heart warming to see their eager faces and their interest in the day's lesson.
Their eagerness to learn, adapt, and try new things continues to inspire me- if they can show fearlessness in an uncertain situation, so can I. My wish is to help each of them learn to care for themselves and others while learning the educational curriculum- no matter the physical learning environment.
My Project
My students use their chromebooks, headphones, and mice each day. When they move among classrooms or we have distance learning days; these items move with them. The cords, comfort, and functionality of the headphones and mice they have now are not always reliable. There are some programs we use at school that require students to have a microphone and we are currently sharing 30 such head sets amongst 90 students.
Preparing all of these items at a moment's notice can be challenging, so for each student to have their own cordless headphones (charging cord with microphone) and a wireless mouse; all labeled and stored in a waterproof bag; would ensure that students have the items they need to complete their work efficiently- no matter where they are doing their learning.
No more time lost untangling cords, digging through desks trying to locate items, having to trade materials due to cord failure, or extra time sanitizing because of possible contamination of being used by another student.
