My students are an awesome classroom of brand new 4th Graders! Collectively, they are a group of rowdy and energetic little people. Even though I just met each of them, they are special to me because they are only my second class of students in my teaching career.
Inventors, leaders, doctors, and fashionistas would be just a few labels to describe this group.
They surprised me from the get-go with their comedic performances, along with their interesting talents. I am eager to see how all of us will grow throughout the school year.
I am creating this project in the hopes that I can orchestrate a super fun unit for my fourth graders. Prior to funding this project, I plan to do and in-depth study on various genres that my students typically don’t choose to read. I also hope to incorporate a book tasting to reinforce concepts that we discuss through this unit. I plan to use the blank books in this project to implement a project-based learning experience for the students to create their own books. It is my hope that by creating a classroom of young, published authors, that the students will understand the importance of all types of genres in the world of books.
