This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you know what it's like not being able to communicate effectively with your peers in elementary school? My students face these challenges every day. Help them achieve their speech and language goals, so they can benefit from the classroom and daily life!
Many of the students I service are having difficulty maintaining attention, following directions, retaining vocabulary, and answering simple who, what, where, when, and why questions.
Consequently, they suffer academically and sometimes even socially because they are picked on. Many students come from households where they are only exposed to languages other than English. Some of these students then suffer when trying to communicate with classmates and teachers because they can't understand how to answer certain questions. The school is in a high need area. Ours is a Title I school, so at least 60% of students must be enrolled in the free or reduced-price lunch program.
According to a comprehensive information report, students and families at this school require financial public assistance. The students could really use your help in receiving materials they would not normally be exposed to!
My Project
These materials will make a huge difference in helping the students learning because it will allow me to see all the students and all the materials at the same time.
These materials will definitely help my remote students' online learning experience.
For example, they will be able to work on following directions and engaging in interactive story book activities. They love interacting on zoom sessions to help reach their speech/language goals!
