Many of the students I service are having difficulty grasping concepts that are typically developed at their age level. Consequently, they suffer academically and sometimes even socially because they are picked on. Many students come from households where they are only exposed to languages other than English. Some of these students then suffer when trying to communicate with classmates and teachers because they can't understand basic concepts or even sounds. With your help I can provide materials to these students with speech-language impairments to help them with fluency, sentence structure, auditory processing and literacy skills! The school is in an high need area. According to a comprehensive information report, 71-80% of students and families at this school require financial public assistance. The students could really use your help in receiving materials they would not normally be exposed to!
