My Project
The IMSE Morphology Plus 30-hour course is a hands-on, interactive class that provides a complete understanding of morphology, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension and how to apply it in the classroom.
After participating in this accredited Structured Literacy course, I will have the training and tools necessary to provide research based instruction in the areas of comprehension and vocabulary.
As a special education teacher, this training is an important component to my teaching and practice. I have had the ability to take the Orton-Gillingham training IMSE offers for direct teaching in decoding and encoding components of reading. The Morphonology training is almost the sister version of that training to provide comprehension and vocabulary instruction to students to meet the other important components needed to be successful in reading. This training is geared for students I work with in grades 3-5.
I am looking forward to this training to enhance my current teaching practices and to see growth in all of my students ability to understand words they are reading and begin to build comprehension skills needed to demonstrate reading success.
