My Project
IMSE is an organization that teaches the Orton Gillingham method to teachers. This method is all about learning through a multi-sensory experience. One part of that multi-sensory experience is how "sight words" are taught. They are known as "red words" with this method of teaching. The books are a key part in the implementation of this curriculum and method in the classroom with the students.
Kindergarten students learn through experiencing and doing, which is the multi-sensory approach.
Hands on learning experiences for the students is a wonderful kinesthetic way for them to learn, especially for those students who learn in a different way. With may students who are on IEP's, neurodivergent and are ELL's (english language learners), this methodology has had a HUGE impact on their education this year so far. I want to be able to further their learning experiences with these Red word books.
