Improving Student Learning and Productivity on the Go!

My Project

Being an online educator requires a level of adaptability unmatched in the traditional classroom. From working at various school sites for testing or one-on-one support, to being available when it is convenient for students, flexibility and adaptability is a must! The same is true for my students, who are working hard to graduate.

Donating to this project will help my students attain graduation goals!

Being able to access and view rubrics while completing class assignments, and writing essays is extremely beneficial because many students are unable to print and the system will not allow additional tabs open on some lessons. Having rubrics readily available for all assignments will help train my students on how to apply them. This is particularly important for essays and other written assignments because we are working on creating college ready juniors and seniors, many of whom have not had the opportunity to work extensively with rubrics or develop their own style of writing.

A portable monitor will also allow us to complete synchronous lessons. As I work with my students one-on-one, having a portable monitor will help my students to view the lessons at the same time as the assignments. This is valuable because it is easy to overlook part of the lesson and difficult to navigate through the assignments for students new to the platform. In addition, we will benefit from the ability of being able to complete tasks, like returning email, and reviewing feedback on lessons. This process will be so much more efficient because we will be able to access several pieces of data at one time. The time savings in not having to switch tabs or programs could give us up to an additional hour of time communicating and working together each day!
