Improving Reading Stamina through Independent Reading

My Project

My goal is to continue to cultivate a love for reading among my students by providing them with a rich selection of new books tailored to their interests and reading levels. Independent reading is a powerful tool that not only improves literacy skills but also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and empathy.

My absolute favorite part of being a teacher is helping a student discover books they truly love and your donation will play a key role in building a vibrant classroom library where every student can find a book that excites and inspires them.

This book list comes from two places: the New York Public Library's best books of the year for teens and then books recommended by my colleagues at Austin College & Career Academy. Thank you for helping me create a reading-rich environment that will benefit our students for years to come!
