I am a third grade reading and language arts teacher at a rural elementary school in Pink Hill, North Carolina. I would love to be able to provide my students with the opportunity to listen to recorded texts and vocabulary words. Research shows that slower learners gain skills in reading and comprehension through listening to and following along with recorded text. I have a high population of ESL students who could benefit from the use of audio tape vocabulary instruction. In addition, the use of audio tapes for reading comprehension would be awesome! Students could follow along in their reading books while listening to me read the story to them on tape. This would allow the students to see the words and hear them. This would greatly help them with word recognition and letter sounds. Additionally, they would be able to work on comprehension. Please help my students become better readers and truly achieve at their highest level!
