Improving Our Listening Skills by Listening to Books on CD

Help me give my students a class listening center complete with multiple books, a CD player, and four sets of headphones.

My Students

My students are great! I teach five and six-year-olds who are excited to learn. They are motivated to learn new things and moved to apply new instruction, skills, and concepts.

Our school is a learning-driven environment, where teachers inspire children to learn and grow, children are proactive and motivated about their own learning and our administration is dedicated to providing the best education available to the students that our school serves.

Our school educates children who are from mostly middle-class backgrounds. But, our area also draws in children who may not have access to education, technology, or who may be second language learners.

My Project

This listening center will provide the children in my classes the opportunity to listen to books that they would like to listen to encouraging independence, increasing comprehension skills, and story retell.

As a class of five-year-olds, my students are active and interested in literacy.

This listening center will help develop skills that will improve their ability to read. My students will be able to use these materials daily to listen to stories and future students will also be able to utilize these materials, making them useful for many children.

These materials include a CD player, headphones for multiple listeners, books for each student to follow along with, and a storage compartment for all of the listening center materials.
