Improving Our Health and Focus Through Flexible Seating!

My students need flexible seating that includes 3 Portable Multiuse Adjustable Recliner Stadium Seats, 2 CanDo Inflatable Donut Balls, and 2 Swivel Task Chairs.

My Students

My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds. We are comprised primarily of military families, and English language learners. Students in our school are ethnically and culturally diverse, speaking a multitude of languages, and coming into our school at a variety of learning abilities. Due to our diverse population and military families, students move frequently and enter and exit at various times through the school year. Our classroom is looking to become a class full of 21st century learners who use technology and hands-on experiments where learning is not taught by lectures, but by student exploration.

My Project

Do you like choices? So does our class. As we move around the classroom, the one thing that doesn't change is our seating choices. Have you ever tried to sit all day in one chair?

Until this year, you had two choices, sit on a very hard chair or the equally hard floor.

This year, I have introduced ball chairs and wobble disks into the room and they have proven successful. Unfortunately, there are only a few who get to have this choice. I want to bring this option to every student in the classroom and with this project that goal will slowly become a reality.

Please help our class to focus better, improve our core strength, and to give us choices of comfort. With this project student will have more options like two Swivel Task Chairs to allow students to move in their seat and focus on their work, two CanDo Inflatable Donut Balls to give an alternative to ball seats, and three adjustable Recliner Stadium Seats to help cushion to floor and give back support while sitting on the floor. With your help more students in our class will have an option to sit in a seat that help them do their best.
