Help me give my students these items so we can help their learning environment. We need calculators and computer privacy shields for many of our classroom activities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Currently, I am blessed to teach 6th and 7th Math. My students all vary in intellectual abilities and learning styles. They are all amazing students who individually they excel at different paces. Academically, some perform 2 grade levels below and others at grade level. Aside from their diverse academic needs, they also differ in language acquisition stages.
Differentiated instruction is key in reaching all my students’ diverse academic needs and improving their chances of academic success.
Since my students excel at different paces, it is crucial to deliver their instruction in different learning styles and teaching strategies. Learning differently shouldn’t hinder anyone’s academic success. I strive to make every day and every lesson meaningful for my students.
My Project
Since my students excel at different paces, it is crucial to deliver their instruction in different learning styles and teaching strategies. Differentiated instruction calls for students working on different assignments at the same time for a common goal. While some students may be working on the computer individually on an assignment applying the skills they have mastered, other students will be in small groups learning cooperatively, and others would be in smaller groups with me learning the material at a slower pace.
The computer shields and calculators are an important part of our classroom daily activities.
The computer shields give each student the opportunity to focus on what they are working on in the computer. Some students have ADHD and focusing is a challenge for them. These shields greatly help accommodate their needs. Other students need and appreciate the privacy the shields provide. The allow students to work individually and shields them from other students’ eyes. The calculators are a must for a lot of our content. Some parents can not afford to purchase them, and the student is left without one most of the time. Having this calculator is very important because it will not only help the student master the content easier but also, this is one of the calculators allowed to be used on the FSA Math.
