This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We would love to ask if you could help fund some snacks for students in math classes. Math students lack confidence and tend to give up. We want our students to try and make mistakes in math class and learn that it is okay.
Having snacks available will not only motivate them to come to class, but will also help us to reward and reinforce positive math affirmations and the growth mindset that kids demonstrate in class.
We want them to think better about themselves as math students.
Help us defeat the “I am bad at math” mentality via snacks.
We also use the snacks to make sure the students come to class. They avoid coming to class because they are hungry and do not eat the school lunch most of the time so we provide snacks to get them through the day.
