This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The special education students I work with love bringing the stories we read to life. Having objects, characters, and manipulatives they can hold, and use helps them imagine, describe, and enhance the story. When we are working on speech sounds, they can write the target words or sounds in sand or on the whiteboards, they can construct the words with magnetic letters. The students love to use scented markers to write their words or sentences

My preschool students love playing I Spy and Language Lotto.

These games give them the opportunity to request objects from peers, describe objects, and put items into categories. It provides them with opportunities to share and interact with others.
