Improving Feedback for Student Success

Help me give my students effective and efficient feedback on their writing. An ipad and stylus enable me to grade and annotate on students' work to give them tips and tricks for improving their craft.

My Students

My 96 fifth graders are 100% online. All chose to learn virtually due to concerns over Covid-19. In fact, many have family members with an increased health risk. We've faced this challenge together, adopting new ways of teaching and learning.

My Project

Teaching students to write requires very specific, individual feedback. With a desktop computer, feedback is limited to a text box. With an iPad and Apple pen, I can quickly and easily make notes on students' writing to help them identify their shining star moments and opportunities to grow in their writing. In addition, I can use the iPad to be more efficient and effective in my grading of student's online work. I can also help each student at their individual level.

Providing students with specific glows and grows will greatly improve the lifelong skill of writing.
